RAINBOW CONNECTION GROUP
(A PEER CONNECTION GROUP FOR NEURODIVERGENT YOUTH)
Rainbow Connection Group meets weekly for 6 weeks and aims to provide a safe space for neurodivergent kids and teens to be themselves and have fun together.
WHO: This group is for any child or teen who identifies as neurodivergent and is looking to connect with other neurodivergent youth in a similar age group (interest list is open to ages 6-15, with individual groups formed within a 1-2 year age range)
WHAT & WHY: We will not focus on teaching “social skills”, but rather on providing a space for kids and teens to be their authentic selves and have fun together with an OT facilitating and supporting
The goals of this group are to:
Have fun while allowing children to be themselves
Provide children with an opportunity to meet other neurodivergent youth from their community and build a social network
Support children in developing the tools to better understand and embrace their authentic communication style and way of connecting
Support self-advocacy, and foster development of a positive neurodivergent identity
Create a discussion space for children to talk about topics that are meaningful to them
WHERE: A community location in the Admiral neighborhood of West Seattle. Exact location will be shared during registration process.
WHEN: UPCOMING SESSION— this July & August, meetings will be on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 pm
Cost is $360 for the 6-week session (if this fee presents a hardship, discounted rate may be available on a case by case basis)
Please email me or submit through this site and I will add your child to my interest list. Then I can group kids together by age and interests when developing future sessions.
